Jul. 2nd, 2004 @ 09:52 pm Warm-ups!
Ok, it is time to post the first exercise. I figure we'll start with a warm-up. Well actually, I have never done this before, so I don't know if I'm warming us up with jumping jacks or a 10k race. So bear with me. :-)

Pick a setting. Describe the setting. Try to invoke all the senses in your description of the location. For now, avoid describing specific characters in this setting.

I'm going to post exercises publicly, but please post replies privately and start a new thread for each person's reply so we can add comments underneath the appropriate piece of writing.

Questions can be posted here.

I think it sounds like a good exercise.

A couple of thoughts about readability. How about as a subject Exercise # date (or maybe Ex short desc date. ie Ex location desc 7/2/04). Then for replies Response Ex # date. This might help for referring to someone's exercise or repsonse to the exercise. Not a big thing in the beginning when not much here yet.

Good Idea!

Yeah, that's a great idea actually. Things will quickly get confusing otherwise!!!

How long?

Generally speaking, how long will the writing assignments be for?
